Weekly activity #4 Time and Space Inventory (there are two activities this week)

Due Feb. 17

DO: We’ve noticed that finding the time to participate in this project as required is challenging for a lot of cohort members.  Sometimes you do set aside time to work on this project, but other things get in the way of making full use of that time.  If you work at your library, staff and other people interrupt with a question or invitation to chat.

We’d like to have you over the next week to Spend Time thinking about:

  • What your plans are for setting aside two to three hours each week to work on Future Ready activities.
  • Spend time looking around you - work, home, community - where are the spaces available to you where you can work on Future Ready projects without interruption?
  • Spend time thinking about where the spaces are where spending time on the Future Ready work probably won’t be successful because you are likely to be interrupted or don’t have an Internet connection? Is that the library, your home, your car?
  • Spend time thinking about how you can use your calendar to schedule your regular time work for working on the Future Ready project and eventually the events you will plan. Is there anything you are doing now that you can delegate, postpone, or just say no to while you are engaged in this project?

Goal: Help cohort members develop some strategies for making the time to work on Future Ready with the Library activities.

Feedback: Due Feb. 17th In your small groups, share your thoughts about how you are going to find time and space to work on project activities; ask your group members their ideas and where they think they can get work done.
