Hello all! I was wondering if I could get some input from you on how to help our school system with something they are planning. I got this email today
"We are having a college/career week the week of May 8 for our 6th grade students. We plan to have them take a computerized interest inventory and then research the field(s) that align with their interests. They will have to tell what education they need, choose the college or technical school they would attend, and research the actual career itself. At the end of the week, they will do a "job fair" for the 4th and 5th to tour so that the younger students can visit booths and learn about careers/colleges/etc. You said that the library is currently interested in this topic, and I wondered if you have any input about our career week. We are open to all the help we can get! Our guidance counselor, Jennifer Harris, is in charge of this undertaking. We plan to make it a bigger and bigger thing throughout the next few years. Thanks!"
I'm so excited that they are doing this, but I'm drawing a blank on what else they could do. What are your thoughts? I'll let them know my cohort group helped. ;)
