Well, with the Career Fair I had planned 3 days away, the middle grade principle emailed me saying that she thought it would be best to postpone the Fair. Apparently, students are still trying to figure out where their next class takes place so she thinks it would be best for it to take place later in the year.
Her exact words were: "We are not at a point in the year where students are prepared to ask questions or get anything meaningful out of the experience this early. I have asked the guidance counselor to work with Jane to find an alternate date. We will make sure students have a questionnaire so they can be prepared to interact with the students. I want the experience to be good for all involved."
So, while this is discouraging, hopefully a new date will be picked soon and we can really get moving on the Career Fair.
