Establishing Listening and Learning Relationships

I am at a point of refining my picture of context for career readiness on this remote island. The global crossroads of Euro-Americans, Filipinos, First Nations, Mexican, African, Indonesian, and Asian plays out everyday in the library and across the island in schools, canneries, fisheries, wildlife refuge, cruise ship visits, local coffee shops, etc. While thinking about the role of participatory culture via online formats and YOU TUBE productions, I searched using the keyword string: participatory culture career readiness and yielded the result "Assessing Cultural Life Skills of American Indian Youth" (2006) which I have attached below for the purposes of this community of learning and participation. In May I want to practice more community values and bring together a circle of elders and youth to share my story of the cohort thus far and invite feedback and fine tuning of communication strategies and direction. I am very excited to have the tools of the cohort and now look forward to spending time learning the science of relational building through project design. Or, perhaps its more about my learning project design through relational building. Yes, I think that's the aha moment for me.
