Activity Template for LLTC

Despite LLTC's state of turmoil and my incessant whining, our project has begun!  For real!  We had the full group of 17 youth here Tuesday and today for seven hours total (!!) and everything went well.  Still have a lot of Figuring Things Out to do between now and the end date (August 15), but we’re at least off the ground and moving forward.  This early success helps, too, just in terms of realizing that all of this is possible and maybe it won’t kill me after all.

I am no good at fitting my thoughts into a framework devised by someone else, so I’ve been making up my own action template (attached!) as I’ve gone along, including the things I want to remember and leaving huge empty spaces for reflection because I think best in paragraphs.  I created one for the overall program as well as one for each individual day.  I’ll share the overall program one here, along with Days One and Two.  I still need to write up extended descriptions and reflections for this week’s adventures; those'll come in a couple days (after my brain has had some time to catch up with reality).

To be totally honest, I am so glad I didn’t plan out Days Three through Six before we began.  The group is really interested in talking with recent LLTC graduates who have jobs, so I can be sure to add that in August, and I can fill up the rest of the schedule with classes closely tied to specific “dream jobs” they identified.  We have a cop, two veterinarians, one sportscaster, one TV show host, one cosmetologist, one teacher, one bus driver, one software developer, one salesman, and ... I can’t remember the rest.
